Development Work / Training
Jenny integrates her art practice alongside a career in working with people. She currently works part time as an independent advocacy worker for Advocard at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
She has experience of supporting people with mental health problems, learning difficulties and physical health issues in community and statutory settings; through 1:1, group work and staff development and training.
She is an experienced Social worker, having spent 5 years at the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit.
She has had a number of training roles including at Health in Mind. She was freelance from 2009 -11, co running ‘Open To All’ Mental health awareness training for museums and art galleries. Also she was involved in – Art and Creativity at a women’s mental health support group; Planning sessions with young people, for Transforming Transitions using Person Centred Planning tools; Delivering training for Lothian NHS Mental Health and Wellbeing Team as a trainer on Realising Recovery and WRAP courses.
