About this work

These pieces are a response to the idea of worry beads, talismans and the idea of holding something precious in your pocket to keep you safe . The tactile process of holding, smoothing and knowing the surface of an object imbued with personal meaning is an ancient tradition and one that could be lost in a digital world. They can be seen as individual sculptures or as a collection, as in ‘1 Months Supply’ and the boxed sets.

These objects are made from driftwood and plastic found on beaches; laminated, formed and polished to a pleasing palm sized pebble.
