What I bring to coaching
I am a clear, compassionate and thoughtful coach who offers women space to reflect in their busy lives about what is really important to them and what needs to change in order to live a more fulfilling life.
I am a life coach with a wealth of experience in listening to people and supporting positive outcomes. I am currently training with Animas and working towards accreditation with the International Coaching Federation. I provide a confidential, safe space to give you the time to think, reflect on options and make plans. I use skilful listening alongside astute, timely questions to enable you to shift forward in order to facilitate the changes you are hoping for.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a conversational approach to help people make changes in their lives. It is future focused, and assumes that the client has the answers to their own difficulties which coaching can facilitate to resolve. It is purposeful and goal/intention lead with clear outcomes either tangible or intangible. It can be challenging and thought provoking, with the client and coach collaborating to explore themes, patterns and beliefs in a curious and open approach.
Animas is a London based company and I chose this course as it offers clear evidence based psychological approaches and a broad range of techniques including cognitive, mindfulness, narrative and transactional analysis as well as extensive practical learning. I already have extensive listening skills that I bring to the sessions to offer a calm, reflective and supportive environment in which to explore issues.
What people have said recently about coaching with me
‘Jenny Pope provides a very relaxed and grounded space for exploring issues that feel overwhelming or intractable. She has a very calm and gentle style while also being very well-organised and clear. I was able to look at issues which I had been avoiding and which felt quite like obstacles, and came away instead with ideas of what to do and even a plan of next steps.’ JM, Edinburgh
‘Jenny is reliable, friendly, professional, a great listener and really puts you at ease. I enjoyed working with her and would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone.’ YH, Edinburgh
‘The usefulness of my coaching sessions surpassed my expectations. Her manner was calm, confident and supportive and her questions helped to give me new insight into how I could address some long standing concerns with my career.’ KM, Glasgow
How I can work with you
Initially we can have a free short chat to make sure you understand what coaching is, answer any questions, ensure you have topics and areas of your life appropriate to use within coaching as well as making sure I am the right person to be having coaching with. Coaching usually happens over a number of sessions typically 5 or 6 although this can vary as required.
Meetings can be face to face at my house in Portobello, Edinburgh, or via Skype or Face Time. We can also make alternative specific arrangement to suit if that is helpful.
I also have information about expectations from both the client and coaching perspective that I provide once we have agreed to work together.
